PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
The City of Watkinsville’s Georgia DOT Transportation Enhancements funded Pedestrian Systems Improvements Phase II project is an extension of the Phase I project along the City’s main street that was completed in 2007, and includes additional pedestrian enhancements around and near Rocket Field, the City’s Little League baseball park. The improvements consist of new sidewalks, replacing existing sidewalks in need of repair, replacing cobra-head type streetlights with less intrusive and more aesthetic historic reproduction type poles and fixtures, and landscape plantings.
The total project budget is $552,500, funded by a combination of grant funds from Georgia DOT and local funding.
