Travis Pruitt & Associates, Inc., a civil engineering, land surveying, landscape architecture, and environmental consultant firm located in Norcross, Georgia, has an opening for an experienced Survey Crew Chief.
Duties for qualified applicants will include:
- Managing Survey Crew with daily field assignments including: Boundary, Topographic and As-built Surveys; Construction Layout.
- Collection of daily assignments, supplies, and equipment.
- Monitoring of crew members' activities, including performance levels and safe working practices.
- Maintaining professional documentation, performing calculations, and reviewing data and assignments
- Checking the accuracy of the survey party's work
- Keeping accurate notes, records and sketches to describe the work performed.
Qualifications/Skills & Knowledge requirements:
- 5+ years in land development as a land surveyor
- Knowledge of land surveying practices and techniques
- Working knowledge of modern survey devices and modern survey methods
- Working knowledge of robotic instruments, GPS and data collectors
- Competence with optical and digital instruments as well as handheld controllers and Data Collectors
- Experience MUST include performance of construction, topographical, boundary, and aerial surveys
- Ability to perform/review geometry calculations using hand-held programmable calculator
- Great communication skills and the ability to direct the work of others
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with project managers, subordinate, related personnel and limited contact with the general public.
- Physical ability to work in a variety of challenging outdoor environments and conditions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Excel, Google Earth, Carlson Software and current Part 107 sUAS pilot certificate a plus.

Full-time employees paid vacation time accrues at a rate of 3.08 hours per pay period for a maximum of 80 hours (two weeks) per year. Personal paid time off allowed for full-time employees, 7days (56 hours) per calendar year.
